Longjing "Pre-Qingming" 2026: The Essence of Spring

Longjing (or Lung Ching) is celebrated as the "King of Green Teas." This specific selection belongs to the prestigious Ming Qian (Pre-Qingming) category, meaning it is harvested before the Qingming festival (early April).

Why is it so special?

Limited Harvest: It is produced in a window of just a few days, when the buds are tiny, tender, and full of nutrients accumulated during the winter.

Superior Quality: Before the rains, growth is slow; this gives the leaves an extraordinary sweetness and a unique aromatic concentration, devoid of bitterness.

Craftsmanship: The leaves are hand-crafted in large woks, where they are expertly pressed to obtain the typical flat, "spear" shape.

Sensory Profile

Characteristic Description

Appearance: Flat, uniform leaves, a bright jade green with golden highlights.

Aroma: Intense notes of toasted chestnut, fresh soybeans, and a delicate floral scent.

Flavor: Extremely smooth and velvety. Lingering sweetness (Hui Gan) with a fresh hazelnut aftertaste.

Color: Clear and bright yellow-green.

Preparation Tips (Traditional Method)

To enhance this precious tea, we recommend using a tall glass or a Gaiwan to admire the "dance of the leaves."

Water Temperature: 75°C - 80°C (avoid boiling water to avoid scalding the tender buds).

Dosage: 3g of leaves per 150-200ml of water.

Infusion Time: 1-2 minutes for the first infusion. This tea holds up beautifully to 3 or 4 subsequent infusions, each revealing different nuances.

Note for Connoisseurs

Longjing 2026 is a tea best enjoyed "young." Its freshness is its main virtue. Store in a cool, dry place away from light, preferably in an airtight container to preserve its aromatic bouquet.
